TOPIC: Grantwriting Tips: CMS Health Care Innovation Grants of $1-30 Million
DATE: Thursday, May 30, 2013, 3:00pm-4:30pm EDT
SPEAKERS: Heidi Arthur, Vice President of SAE and Associates; Nancy Harris King, Development Director, Southeast Mental Health Services; Knute Rotto, Consultant, SAE and Associates; Kristan McIntosh, Project Manager, SAE & Associates
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is accepting applications for 100 new 3-year Health Care Innovation grants, ranging from $1 million to $30 million each. The grants will fund new care models that drive significant improvement in population health, quality of care, and total cost of care. Letters of intent are due by June 28 and applications by August 15.
This National Council LIVE webinar reviews the grant opportunity, shares insights and lessons from a previous CMS Innovation Awardee, and offers tips and techniques to prepare a competitive proposal. Presenters offer resources for technical assistance, feasibility review, and partnership facilitation.
The CMS Health Care Innovation grants are offered to fund models that
  • Are designed to rapidly reduce Medicare, Medicaid, and/or CHIP costs in outpatient and/or post-acute settings.
  • Improve care for populations with special needs.
  • Transform financial and clinical models.
  • Improve the health of populations through prevention, wellness, and comprehensive care that extends beyond the clinical service delivery setting.
Grant applications must comprise service delivery and payment models, including an approach to secure participation from multiple payers. Preference will be given to models implemented in less than six months. Join us for this webinar to plan and prepare a winning approach to your grant submission.
