Mental Health Counselor

Requirements:
Master’s degree in social services, guidance, counseling or social work.

Must be fluent in American Sign Language.

Qualified to drive a state vehicle.

Day-to-day traveling over multi-counties is required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job purpose:

Under limited supervision, provides mental health treatment services to clients who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a community mental health and school setting across multi-county areas.

Salary: $23,222 - $42,963



Clinical Counselor


Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience.

Must be fluent in American Sign Language.

Qualified to drive a state vehicle.

Day-to-day traveling over multi-counties is required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job Purpose:

Under general supervision coordinates the service provision for Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers and their families in a multi-county area. Manage and provide an array of behavioral health services.

Internship for master’s programs possible.

Salary: $23,222-$42,963



American Sign Language Interpreter

Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in sign language interpreting.
An associate degree in the field of interpreting arts may be substituted for the required experience.

Job purpose:

To convey communication between deaf and hearing individuals in a community mental health setting or inpatient facility.
As a facilitator of communication and cross-cultural mediation, the interpreter utilizes total communication methods to meet the needs of the situation to which he or she is assigned at a high level of competency.

Salary: $19,087 - $35,316
